Wisdom Wednesday #11: A Different Look Into Money and The Law of Attraction

I was intrigued by this video which I found on YouTube. Sometimes you just need a video instead of a book to get to your other senses. This video was recorded at a seminar. It's great to see the enthusiasm and audience participation.

I believe this video is great for those who want to get into business for themselves and feel the "guilt" of charging money because they feel they aren't "good enough". I can relate to that thought process, especially when I first started selling online.

It's a bit over an hour long. I suggest you make the time to watch this with all of your attention available.

Wisdom Wednesday #10: How Meditating Is Beneficial In This State of Mind

Who would've thought that some of your turn of the century literature would STILL have some relevance to today's new age process. Sometimes you have to go back to the basics to benefit from the most current teachings.

I found this book at my local library. I also see that it's still being sold on Amazon, for those who want to purchase a copy for their own collection. It was published in 1995. For some, that's old news. For others, I would like to think, you can't understand the new stuff without reading up on the past.

So here's my take on the book.

The Speed Technique To Alpha Meditation and Visualization

Phew, say that 10 times! This book is a quick read, approximately 140, give or take some extra info by the publishers. I say it's a quick read because I've seen many books 2-3 as extensive on the same subject. The author Harold Kampf, shares his technique with readers in simplistic terms. Maybe it's due to the ease of the steps themselves. I find it almost too easy.

He shares two techniques, the original and the "new and improved" technique. I prefer to learn both, just to get a feel for both and see which one would benefit me the most. Since everyone experiences things differently, the original technique might suit you better.

Original Technique

This technique reminds me of you typical induction to hypnosis. You visualize yourself going "down" and into your chosen "serence scene". Nothing particularly new. He refers to this as the "Whole-person Deep Level Technique".

Simple as 1-2-3 or A-B-C

His newest version bypasses the visualization part of going "down". Instead it focuses on the physiology of getting you into alpha. At the end, you will end up in your "serene scene". From the author's perspective, it should get you into alpha state in less than 15 seconds.

So, Which is Better?

I'm a speedy type of person. I'm a busy mom of two boys, sometimes I think it should call for speedy techniques. That's if I'm pressed for time. So for the sake of my home setting, I'd choose the A-B-C Technique. BUT, I think one could definitely benefit from the original technique because it trains you for other wonderful self-help tools, like self-hypnosis. Visualization is key. If you skip out on visualization in the pre part of meditation, you could be short handing yourself into the rest of it. With practice as with any new habit, it gets easier.

The Rest of the Book

The rest of the book has life examples and shows you how to utilize these techniques to accomplish your goals. I like how it can be used in various ways from overall relaxation to healing your physical ailments. I'm for any extra ammo that can get rid of a headache. Or at least lessen the pain.

One for the Spiritual Toolbox

I for one, have officially added these techniques to my spiritual toolbox. It's useful for kicking things up a notch or changing out the same old routine of meditation. I'm definitely adding this to my hard copy library.
