Every Day A Friday - Chapter 1: Why Choosing Happy Is A Cause And Not Effect

Wow, I haven't even finished reading chapter one and I already feel the urge to write something. I just knew when I picked up this book I would have so many good things to say. It's great to see a book that has an accompanying journal. The author took care to make sure that we just don't read about happiness, we dive into it and make it happen by self reflecting in a journal.

You Get To Choose

You get to decide how you want to feel today. It sets up the events that occur throughout your day. If you decide to feel good, which I remind you is pretty much the gist of law of attraction, then good will appear to happen around you. I say "appear" because it's all about perception.

Perception 

Perception is key, if you want to be happy, see the good and the opportunities that become available to you. When we dwell upon the negative and the things that are wrong, we cannot see things for what they truly are or could be. I love how the author gets us to realize that we tend to use "got" instead or "get". For example, we tend to complain and say, "I've got to go to work today!" or "I've got to take the kids to school!" We should see that it's not really a "got to" but a "get to." "I get to work today, because I have a job!" or "I get to take the kids to school, because I have a car or enough time in my schedule to do so!" 

Turn That Frown Upside Down

The author goes on to admit that not every day is going to be that simple. But we CAN change how we want to feel most of the time. And if you get in that rut, decide to turn it back around. 

In Relation To LOA

Sustaining any emotion brings about the catalyst of events that could either pull or push you towards your desires. By remaining in upset or thoughts of negativity will slow or pull you away from your desires. You send out to the universe that you are not ready or feel you don't deserve what you really want. If you decide to be happy for as long as possible, you accelerate conditions that bring about your desires.

What Do You Want To Feel Today?

For most of us, the answer is obvious. We want to be happy. Sometimes it's hard when you seem to be surrounded by unhappy people or negative situations. You cannot let that control how you want to feel. It may seem selfish at first, but people tend to not recognize that emotions can generate energy. That energy can bring enough movement that surrounds you to help ease other people's emotions within your physical reach. It's that domino effect you want that happens in your favor, thus providing positive situations or opportunites around you. 

Cause and Effect

It's cause and effect. Your emotions are the cause. What happens around you or to you is the effect. It is not the other way around. Events are not the cause for your emotion. Events cannot control how you feel. You control your feelings and emotions. When you decide to take control of your emotions, situations will fall into place. 

Okay, So How Do I Get Happy And Stay Happy? 

There are several exercises that I will be sharing with you along with my co-author. You can try them out and perhaps modify them to your needs. There are some advance instructional I'll be sharing in the future, for now I'd like to focus on the simple and doable exercises for now. Check out the resources I provide on this blog.
