Wisdom Wednesday #11: A Different Look Into Money and The Law of Attraction

I was intrigued by this video which I found on YouTube. Sometimes you just need a video instead of a book to get to your other senses. This video was recorded at a seminar. It's great to see the enthusiasm and audience participation.

I believe this video is great for those who want to get into business for themselves and feel the "guilt" of charging money because they feel they aren't "good enough". I can relate to that thought process, especially when I first started selling online.

It's a bit over an hour long. I suggest you make the time to watch this with all of your attention available.

Wisdom Wednesday #10: How Meditating Is Beneficial In This State of Mind

Who would've thought that some of your turn of the century literature would STILL have some relevance to today's new age process. Sometimes you have to go back to the basics to benefit from the most current teachings.

I found this book at my local library. I also see that it's still being sold on Amazon, for those who want to purchase a copy for their own collection. It was published in 1995. For some, that's old news. For others, I would like to think, you can't understand the new stuff without reading up on the past.

So here's my take on the book.

The Speed Technique To Alpha Meditation and Visualization

Phew, say that 10 times! This book is a quick read, approximately 140, give or take some extra info by the publishers. I say it's a quick read because I've seen many books 2-3 as extensive on the same subject. The author Harold Kampf, shares his technique with readers in simplistic terms. Maybe it's due to the ease of the steps themselves. I find it almost too easy.

He shares two techniques, the original and the "new and improved" technique. I prefer to learn both, just to get a feel for both and see which one would benefit me the most. Since everyone experiences things differently, the original technique might suit you better.

Original Technique

This technique reminds me of you typical induction to hypnosis. You visualize yourself going "down" and into your chosen "serence scene". Nothing particularly new. He refers to this as the "Whole-person Deep Level Technique".

Simple as 1-2-3 or A-B-C

His newest version bypasses the visualization part of going "down". Instead it focuses on the physiology of getting you into alpha. At the end, you will end up in your "serene scene". From the author's perspective, it should get you into alpha state in less than 15 seconds.

So, Which is Better?

I'm a speedy type of person. I'm a busy mom of two boys, sometimes I think it should call for speedy techniques. That's if I'm pressed for time. So for the sake of my home setting, I'd choose the A-B-C Technique. BUT, I think one could definitely benefit from the original technique because it trains you for other wonderful self-help tools, like self-hypnosis. Visualization is key. If you skip out on visualization in the pre part of meditation, you could be short handing yourself into the rest of it. With practice as with any new habit, it gets easier.

The Rest of the Book

The rest of the book has life examples and shows you how to utilize these techniques to accomplish your goals. I like how it can be used in various ways from overall relaxation to healing your physical ailments. I'm for any extra ammo that can get rid of a headache. Or at least lessen the pain.

One for the Spiritual Toolbox

I for one, have officially added these techniques to my spiritual toolbox. It's useful for kicking things up a notch or changing out the same old routine of meditation. I'm definitely adding this to my hard copy library.

Wisdom Wednesday #9: YOU Are The Center of The Universe

I was intrigued by an email I received from a newsletter I subscribed to a while back. It was referring to a video produced in 1977 called, "Powers of Ten". It's shy of 10 minutes long, but it is profound in the sense that one can visually see the chaos to the vast nothingness patterned both inward and outward.

Taken directly from the description the following YouTube video it is connected to:

"Powers of Ten takes us on an adventure in magnitudes. Starting at a picnic by the lakeside in Chicago, this famous film transports us to the outer edges of the universe. Every ten seconds we view the starting point from ten times farther out until our own galaxy is visible only a s a speck of light among many others. Returning to Earth with breathtaking speed, we move inward- into the hand of the sleeping picnicker- with ten times more magnification every ten seconds. Our journey ends inside a proton of a carbon atom within a DNA molecule in a white blood cell. POWERS OF TEN © 1977 EAMES OFFICE LLC (Available at www.eamesoffice.com)"

This short film shows how each person is potentially their own universe. If you can see that you ARE the center of YOUR universe, you can manifest whatever you want. God or Source is within you.

Are YOU The Center of YOUR Universe?

Please share your thoughts on this video in the comments area below. Do you know of any similar videos that show a similar truth to you being in the center of the universe?

Wisdom Wednesday #8: "I AM"

A Video For Your Enjoyment

Today's video is quite a long one. It's about an hour, so you might want to save this one for a time you have no distractions or can at least watch it in big chunks.

YouTube Channel Worth Subscribing To

The uploader of this video has a great channel related to the Law of Attraction. Their channel is called YouAreCreators, look them up via YouTube and subscribe. I'm subscribed to their channel as well but have NO AFFILIATION to them. I just enjoy their topics which I will continue to share here on this blog.

Webradio - LOA Radio Network

And speaking of non affiliated channels, I've come across a webradio show I'm sure many will enjoy. Sometimes a person is visual, sometimes a person is auditory or tactile and so forth. There are times I want to just rest my eyes and listen to something instead or multitask. The following is a direct link to their channel:

http://loaradionetwork.com/

They have many popular LOA related speakers as guests, it's worth a listen.

Wisdom Wednesday #7: Can Religion and Law of Attraction Be Interrelated?

Today I wanted to share the book I'm currently reading called The Law of Divine Compensation by Marianne Williamson. This book delves into the laws of attraction relating to money and miracles.

Religion Vs. Law of Attraction?

Although I am still at the beginning of the book itself, there are many LOA related quotes. It may seem difficult at times to read because there are numerous references to God. I truly believe you can use the it interchangeably with your own spiritual or religious preferences.

The commonality that this book has with LOA related laws are the belief that our own thoughts and emotions effect situations and events around us. There are several quotes and prayers to God that are interesting enough that I have quoted them myself on this blog as well. Again if you can see beyond the references to God you can relate to them in an LOA fashion.

A good quote I found was:

"By aligning yourself with thoughts of infinite love for yourself and others, you gain dominion over the lower thought forms of the world."

This is a good example of interchangeable thought between God and LOA; that by aligning thoughts of emotion controls Earthbound events around us.

Negative Emotions Transformed

This book can serve as a workbook to help release negative emotions therefore creating more opportunities for LOA related events. It also bridges religion and LOA for those who have a hard time separating the two. I am myself, and Catholic and yet I believe strongly in the laws of attraction.

To Be Reviewed in the Future

I plan on getting into great detail chapter by chapter, for of those who would like to follow me. There are no websites that are helpful in putting this book into action. I would like to share my own take on the exercises made throughout it.

Share Your Quotes

Can you share a quote that is both LOA and God related? Please provide your quotes and your own interpretation of it to share with other readers.

Wisdom Wednesday #5: Rewire your Brain. MUST watch!

Rewire your Brain Review! Must see.

The beauty of living in a reality filled with opportunities and choices is that there's something for everyone, there's variety. For those of you who are trying to learn more about LOA and how the whole Universe works as a whole, but are having trouble learning through a text book, or anybody who is more logic oriented and are those types that need the facts before accepting what is before us and just can't seem to accept the esoteric meaning behind the words offered by spiritual teachers like Abraham Hicks or Bashar. Well there's finely a solution! This video explains LOA and the Universe at large by the use of examples and statistics through something that can be proven. It's all explained through a science we like to call Quantum Physics. Definitely something I would recommend for people interested in LOA and the sorts, but would like to see a different approach that explains these concepts in a different light.

Watch this video and comment below with your thoughts and questions. What do you like about the video or don't like? How it helped you with learning about LOA? What did you learn from watching this video?

Wisdom Wednesday #4: Eat, Pray, Love Book Review

Eat, Pray, Love Ch 2-3 Review:

Elizabeth begins her story on Chapter 2 with a flashback 3 years time ago to give alittle background information to help build more character and give Liz more depth. She writes in a way that captivates the audeience, the reader, well you to feel for her despair. She is lost laying on the floor of her house contemplating things like she sees herself in all of these photos on her nightstand, but yet she feels separated from those memories she had. She feels like she's a spectator and not a participant in her own life. She feels like she's not truly living. I feel she uses this to connect with the reader, I mean who hasn't felt this way somewhere in their own life. I from personal experience I had felt this way after my break up with my beloved now ex-girlfriend. It was a confusing time mixed with feelings like as if my life's a dream, like nothing seems real for me, I forgot myself through the loss. Through this experience in Chapter 3, Liz experiences her first encounter with her version of what God was to her. It was a confident, more loving, sureness of her own voice locked up inside. She screams in plea for help asking, "God, I know I haven't spoke to you, but what do I do? I am in really big trouble and I need to know what you want me to do? WHAT do I do?"(Eat,Pray, Love; Elizabeth Gilbert) Personally, I believe everyone has their own version of Source. We call it many things, but they're all labels for the same thing. Some say God, others inner being, these labels are all describing this higher, larger than life conciousness that is us. I believe that this inner knowing, this voice she has in this part of the story is her God. When we quiet our mind, from personal experience, I know that we're able to speak and hear that voice because we talk less and listen more. Inspiration comes to us through this inner knowing, this God. Elizabeth Gilbert is very clever and she's a great writer using things like drawing from experiences she's had and tools like commonalities in human behavior to connect with her audience; I think for this reason she's successful in reaching such a HUGE variety of people young and old.

Wisdom Wednesday #3: You MUST Watch These Inspirational Movies and Videos

Inspirational Movies and Vids

It's that time of the week folks, Wisdom Wednesday! Woo hoo! Today our focus is to get out of that rut and over the midweek hump. Today's list is inspirational movies and vids you can rent or watch online. I'll add resources as I go along.

Movie Rentals

1. Eat Pray Love (2010)

Based on the book written by Elizabeth Gilbert. It's actually based on her own true story with some names changed of course. It touches upon self-discovery and the balancing of mind, body and soul. I actually enjoyed this in movie format. My co-author Patrick has actually read the book, read his thoughts on the following post, http://loacocreators.blogspot.com/2014/03/wisdom-wednesday-2-book-of-month-eat.html

2. The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (2012)

I know the title of the photo is in Spanish, but I watched the English version. It's about several individuals who come together at a stage in their life where....

Videos

The following videos are from YouTube

1. The Secret (Full Movie)

This is the original movie. It was inspired by the book written by Rhonda Byrne. I think this is a great "starter" video for those who are just getting to know about the law of attraction.

2. Law of Attraction: Why Negative Events Happen and The Need For Desire by Mikey Bustos

This is an excellent video by a fellow YouTuber Michael Bustos (a previous contestant on Canadian Idol if you recognize his face). He goes on to share how negative events relate to your desires. It's a powerful video in a layman's terms about negative events and law of attraction. I had a "aha" moment watching this.

Wisdom Wednesday #3: Book of the Month ~Eat, Pray, Love

Eat, Pray, Love Chapter# 1 Introduction & Analysis:

Previously, here's a recap. I began on introducing how this book was an autobiography about a young woman named Elizabeth Gilbert who goes on a spiritual journey after being divorced traveling to three places Italy, India, and Indonesia in the search to find perfect balance in her life.

So we begin our journey in Italy where she goes onto explain that she's learning how to speak Italian by a tall, dark-haired, handsome fellow named Giovanni. In this part of the story Liz is exploring how to enjoy the simple pleasures of life. She's learning how to enjoy herself through the pursuit of food, language, and friendship. Giovanni and Liz are learning Italian words over delicious Italian dishes. Through the seeking of learning the art of the Italian language she's attempting to save herself from her chaotic times of her divorce. Learning something new has a sort of healing effect, almost like a distraction from awful experiences and as she's learning more and more about her new accquired language from Giovanni she slowly as the story progresses further in the first part of the book she improves herself while moves on by forgetting her past hurts.

I personally can relate to this with my own break up with my previous girlfriend. Although it wasn't a divorce per se it was an ending of a lovely relationship that would inevitably be my world crumbling down. In the past, I had literally worshipped her and the feet she walked on. I loved her with every fiber of my being and she was my world. I realized it was an unhealthy relationship because I realize we were both coming together from a place of emptiness and hurt. We expected each other to be the happiness for each other when it was suppose to be our own responsibilities individually. I know how Liz felt when her world came crumbling down and when your life is in chaos sometimes a little bit of pleasure or a project, a hobby, or interest can save your life. Like Liz's pursuit of something to improver herself and move on I was working out more with my big sister April at the time of my break up to help improve myself and move on from my own relationship.

I am sure many of you can relate to Elizabeth's struggle so I invite all of you to share your experiences with some troubling time that you had in your own life and the hobby or interest that saved your life. I am interested to know more about you! If you have any questions please feel free to ask me anything and tune in next week for the review and analysis of chapter 2.

Wisdom Wednesday #2: Book of the Month -Eat, Pray, Love

Wisdom Wednesdays #2: Book of the Month -"Eat, Pray, Love"

Patrick's Selected Reading: "Eat, Pray, Love"

Currently, I am reading a biography about a woman lost and trying to find herself through a spiritual journey she takes. How did I come to feel inspired to read this book or give this work any attention? Well it all started when my big sister, April had introduced me to the movie "Eat, Pray, Love" directed by Ryan Murphy starring Julia Roberts. It was a lovely movie. A movie filled with drama and soul and love. I fell IN love with the movie and after watching the movie I thought to myself, "hmmm if the movie is THIS good I wonder what the book could offer me. Maybe more because there's only so much you can put in a movie." So then my book journey begins. Join me! I will be posting a post every week about the spiritual lessons I learn along the way as I read more and more and MORE!

Introduction to Why and What "Eat, Pray, Love" is all about in general.

This book from what I understood is a biography by Elizabeth Gilbert. She's a married woman who realizes how unhappy her marriage really is, and that her life needs to go in a different direction. After a painful divorce she takes off on a round-the-world journey to "find herself" It's funny to note that the places she travels are Italy, India, and Indonesia, all of these places are places that begin with the letter "I" what a fitting way to create a story so cleaver yet so powerful. A spiritual story of self-discovery to exotic places that begin with "I" I love this relationship I can draw to Law of Attraction the MOST powerful law in the Universe. All of our power all of our potential to create what we desire begins and starts with our self, our authentic self. The world, our reality, is sort of like the mirror to our feelings, our thoughts, and our vibrational countenance reflecting back the experiences we hold within. It all starts with "I"

Tune-in next week for our journey to Italy where we'll learn more about Elizabeth Gilbert's journey and her discovery of love and passion and food in hopes to learn more and more about ourselves and LOA.

Wisdom Wednesday #1: Book Of The Month - Every Day A Friday

Wisdom Wednesdays: Books?

This is our first issue of Wisdom Wednesdays: Books edition. Here is where we will share books we have either read or are currently reading. Specific quotes, thoughts and wonders will be shared within these issues or will include links to related posts of the book.

April's Current Book Of The Month

I'm currently reading a book I picked up at my local Barnes & Nobles:

Every Day A Friday by Joel Osteen

Happy Wednesday! I Mean Happy Friday!

This book caught my eye while rummaging through the bargain aisle under self-help:
  1. The mere title had me thinking about the days of the week. Wouldn't it be nice to make every day a Friday. We associate weekend fun, relaxation and good moods with Fridays.
  2. There's a workbook, meaning some hands-on self reflections and exercises. Woo-hoo!
  3. Skimming through the book, I noticed references to the Bible If you're not so religious, it may not appear inspirational. Or it may. I just felt it gave a nice touch to integrate it into feeling good. Religion tends to get the bad rep. I think the term God can be interchanged with Universe if it takes away from the meaning for you.
  4. The book focuses on emotions and feelings, which is part of the law of attraction.
It's really nice to see a book like this. Refreshing. Something about making yourself happy. Aside from the law of attracting and manifesting, changing perspective is very important. If you cannot change perspectives, how will you notice things when they happen? We tend to get stuck in our habits. That blinds you from opportunities.

I'm naturally a happy person. I've been doing everything that makes me happy and attempting to maintain that feeling as much as possible. I know it's challenging to keep the happy momentum when outside events will occur that may not always be in your favor. I think it's actually a good thing that we are at a constant ebb and flow of feelings. It reminds ourselves of our human nature and that the only thing we have control over is our feelings. With the feelings we control, life unfolds in mirror of those feelings. I choose to be happy. Again, I'm not always happy 24/7. I will reach moments of upset yet I have to talk myself out of that mood. It's not easy, but I line up ways to conquer that through different exercises which I share on this blog.

I'm going to share this book in more depth on a separate post. Although, I'm thinking of breaking this book down into several posts as I go through it on a daily basis.

Suggestions

Has anybody finished or is currently reading this book? Or suggests a similar book that relate to the happiness factor? Pl ease post your thoughts on the book or about what you do to maintain your happiness level.
