7 Simple Steps to Self-discovery
Have you ever had difficulty answering a question you wanted to know the answer to, wishing you could find out what to do or how to go about accomplishing it? Do you have deep, yearning unanswered questions locked up inside that brains of yours and are waiting to figure it all out? Well there's a solution! What if I were to tell you right now that locked up deep inside you and within every human being in the Universe is a Source of infinite intelligence that you actually have access to 24 hours a day and 7 days a week provided that you believe in it. From experience I not only believe, but I know that what I am about to reveal to you really does work and I have been using this skill to help aid me in finding all of my own answers to the issues of my life. It's not going to be easy, but like any skill it takes practice, patience, and perseverance to achieve perfection! So come on and join me on this wonderful journey of Meditation and Self-Discovery.
Step 1: Location, Location, LOCATION!
Find a perfect place to meditate, preferably somewhere quiet and peaceful. You want to meditate in a place that's both comfortable and with the LEAST amount of distractions possible.
Step 2: Close your eyes or softly gaze at a point in front of you and breathe.
Take an even deep breath and inhale while counting up from 1 till whenever you can't hold your breath any longer. Usually people tend to stop at 6 or 7, I usually stop myself at 5 sometimes 6, however everybody is different. After holding at the highest number slowly exhale till you there's no air left. If you're doing this right you should feel your stomach rise and fall. Softly focus on your breathing.
Step 3: Keep focusing on your breathing and clear your mind.
So now here's the hard part, for inexperience meditators, you'll begin to receive thoughts from all directions. Your objective is to acknowledge every thought that comes by saying to yourself every time a thought enters your mind, "This is only a thought, I AM thinking. This is a thought." Then release the thought and focus back onto your breathing. What you are accomplishing here is a clearing of the clutter of your mind to cultivating a more focused awarness of your authentic self.
Step 4: Ask the question!
After achieving complete peace and equilibrium you are now ready to ask the question. Begin by softly focusing in your mind the question you wish to answer. Ask this question and then release the question with the feeling that the answer is already done and trust that you'll receive it. Try not to be in a state of worry, but be at peace.
Step 5: Prepare yourself for the receiving of the answer.
Allow yourself permission to relax and move your vibration or your energy to a place of peace and tranquility. Keep telling yourself, "I know the answer will come. I have trust in my inner knowing that I will receive my solution. It is done." Notice the thoughts that enter your mind.
Step 6. The answer reveals itself in different ways.
As you begin to notice the thoughts that enter your mind you will receive the answer to your question. Everybody receives the answers differently. Some will receive the answer visually, through a vision, some will receive the answer auditorily, through the sound of your own voice, it'll be as if it's a more warm, loving, confident version of your own voice speaking to you, and finally some will receive the answer through a feeling, a deep urge that is telling you something. I personally receive my answer through a vision, and it's funny that it so happens that I am myself an artist.
Step 7. Be Consistent.
Keep meditating at the same time and same place everyday. By doing this for about 30 days you'll be building a habit that will follow you everywhere. It will become second nature it'll be natural for you to be at a place of clarity everywhere you go with enough practice.
So there you have it, 7 easy & simple steps to finding what you're looking for. I hope that this helps you as it has benefited me immensely in my own journey of finding who I really am, my authentic self. If you enjoyed it and or are intrigued by this article please stay tuned in for next week as I share my own personal experiences with the application of this meditation practice in finding a simple solution, an answer to a problem.
